GPO WESTWOOD SPEAKER HISTORY

The General Post Office produced the original GPO Telephones in the UK. They were made from the mid-19th century, right up to the late 20th Century while the telephone network was still a publicly run service. Within that one hundred and fifty year period the GPO released a huge amount of memorable and sturdy phones designed for everyday use.   The technology moved on to satisfy a demand for cheaper products.

Retro design inspires everything we do. But our love of modern innovation powers us. A fresh and innovative addition to the retail market, ProTelX (creators of the original GPO brand – www.gporetro.com) was established in September 2009.  Consequently our aim is to design, develop and manufacture high-quality consumer retro products.
