Description

Monitor your home or business using video surveillance from near or afar on a mobile device of your choosing.  Castle Hill Audio Video will guide you through choosing the right cameras for every situation.  Castle Hill Audio Video can help create a customized solution allowing you to check up on the kids at home alone or an elderly parent wishing to age in place inclusive of full commercial systems providing video footage retention that is both referenceable and searchable.  Video can be stored in the cloud or on premise (or both).  There are cloud services that offer very detailed search (i.e.- man with red plaid shirt).  This saves hours of time for businesses that must search manually through hours or days of video.  Our systems also have the proper meta-data so that the video will be admissible in court.

IP Cameras

Cameras can connect by several methods.  The best way to pass video today is with IP cameras.  Cameras connect to network switches using Network Category cables and RJ-45 connections.  They use commonly available network equipment.  The network connection not only provides a signal path, but it also powers the camera.  A more simple installation requires only a single network cable for each camera.  They can carry the highest level of resolution with low latency.  Networking and TCP/IP knowledge is required to be successful with these sorts of systems, especially from a supporting role.

Coax Cameras

The traditional method of connectivity for cameras is by coax cable.  Coax cameras are not often used for new installations .  They are more complicated to install, as they need a signal connection and a power connection.  If you have an existing camera system that’s in need of an upgrade but uses coax cable, don’t worry.  Advances in technology allow coax to utilize most of the features and performance levels of IP cameras.

Wifi Cameras

For those instances when it’s not possible or cost effective to get wire to a camera location, there are wi-fi cameras.  Wifi cameras come with some compromises.  While they don’t need a signal connection, they do require a power connection.  Or batteries can be power the cameras.  But the batteries require charging.  The other issue is that the wifi signal must be strong at the location of the camera.  Video requires good bandwidth.  But in some applications, wifi cameras are the best option.

These modern technologies allow the convenient use of video surveillance.

Castle Hill AV uses cameras from IC Realtime, Ring and HIKVision.
